|
Priyadarshini
Rao worked in the
fashion designing
industry for five
years before she
took the decision
to launch her own
line of clothing
in 1996. The desire
to go solo stemmed
from her inner desire
to create wearable,
yet stylish clothing
that absolutely anybody
could relate to,
eventually including
men with her foray
into menswear in
1998. She loves the
language of bias
and takes care to
achieve clean lines
and cuts, having
experimented on many
occasions with the
silhouette. Priyadarshini
pays special attention
to the use of fabric
in her garments,
as it enhances the
aesthetic appeal
of any garment and
thus never attempts
to cover it with
heavy work or embroidery.
This Season with Priyadarshini
at Be:
She revisits the romantic
era, with a hint of
bohemian, gypsy, and
even vintage looks
taking us through the
maze of crush silks,
taffeta, jacquards,
and embellishments.
Watch out for her Indian
Fashion Week interpretations
and exclusive line
of prêt womens
wear!
